Comanche County IVSS Coverage
Texas retired its county VINE and VINELink service on September 1, 2025. The current official tool is Texas IVSS-Counties. It can carry custody and court events from participating counties, plus notices when a person transfers to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Comanche County participation was not independently confirmed during the research review. Select the county in the live portal or call IVSS support at 866-268-8959 before relying on it.
The system serves a different role from the Comanche County Jail roster. The roster is a current housed-population PDF. IVSS is a notification and person-search layer. Neither one is the permanent release ledger. A name missing from both does not prove discharge, and a name on an old alert does not prove current custody. For a local jail event, the sheriff's release or transfer entry controls.
Search Comanche County IVSS
Start with one person and enough detail to distinguish similar names. IVSS accepts a full or partial name and may also accept a DOC ID, state identification number, jail ID, or permanent booking number. Identifiers are much stronger than name spelling alone. Compare the agency, booking details, and any known date information before opening a result.
- Open the official IVSS-Counties portal and select Texas county coverage.
- Choose Comanche County if it appears, then enter the person's full or partial name.
- Add a known DOC, SID, jail, or permanent booking number when available.
- Compare possible matches by agency and identifier rather than selecting on name alone.
- Save the event time, agency name, and displayed identifier for later confirmation.

Note: A failed retrospective IVSS search is not proof that no booking, release, transfer, or court event occurred.
Comanche County Alert Fields
An IVSS result or message should be read as an agency-fed event, not as a judgment about the whole case. The event name tells what the reporting system recorded. The agency and identifier tie it to a local booking. The timestamp helps compare it with the roster's printed time and the jail's actual booking-out transaction.

A release alert may arrive after the agency has processed the underlying event. Save it, then ask the jail for the actual date and time, release reason or authority, and destination. If the person went to TDCJ, another county, federal custody, or immigration custody, that receiving system becomes the next source.
Register Comanche County Alerts
Registration follows the current IVSS screen. Texas says prior county VINE registrations were migrated during the service change, but an old registration should still be checked. The current system supports text, call, and email preferences. No official source reviewed for this project imposed the four-digit PIN used by legacy telephone VINE, so that old instruction should not be carried into IVSS.
- Open the correctly matched person's record.
- Select notifications and choose the event types offered for that record.
- Enter a text, telephone, or email contact method.
- Complete the confirmation shown by the current portal.
- Keep the registration confirmation and later alert message.
Use contact information that can receive time-sensitive notices. A migrated record may still need a current preference check. If Comanche County is not available, call the state support line and use the jail's official records channel rather than assuming the county feed is active.
Note: Keep the alert timestamp and booking identifier together because they make a later jail-register request much more precise.
Texas Replaced County VINELink
The 2025 change is the distinctive local issue for anyone searching “VINELink Comanche County.” The Texas Attorney General's notification page identifies IVSS-Counties as the successor and describes the migration of prior registrations. Old instructions that say to choose Comanche in county VINELink may now send a reader to a retired workflow.

Confirm Comanche County Release
Call the Comanche County Jail at 325-356-2333 and ask for the named booking's release or transfer entry. A useful request includes full name, date of birth if known, approximate booking date, and permanent booking number. Ask for the date and time custody ended, the release authority or reason, and the destination or receiving agency. A release event without destination can hide continued custody.
The jail register is retained permanently under the Texas State Library's local schedule and includes release or transfer date among its minimum fields. The booking and release packet has a release-or-transfer-plus-two-years minimum. If the result involves a court order, confirm the disposition with the appropriate Comanche County clerk. If it names TDCJ, use the state offender route. Federal and immigration systems are outside IVSS county coverage.

Comanche County Custody Systems
IVSS does not replace the statewide prison search or a federal locator. For a county booking, begin with Comanche County Jail and its register. When the event says transfer to TDCJ, use the state offender search after intake. A federal case belongs in the Bureau of Prisons or federal court path, while an immigration transfer calls for the ICE locator and ERO help line. Each system has different lag and historical coverage.
The distinction prevents a common error. County release means only that the sheriff's custody transaction closed. A TDCJ transfer, another-county pickup, or immigration handoff leaves the person in custody. A state parole release places the person in the community under supervision, while full discharge ends the sentence obligation. IVSS alert wording alone cannot resolve all of those legal states.
When the message and roster differ, compare timestamps before assuming either is wrong. The roster's printed time marks a snapshot; the IVSS message marks feed processing; the jail register holds the local booking-out time. Ask the receiving agency to confirm intake when destination is named. For a court event, obtain the signed order because a hearing notice or docket line does not establish physical release.
Recheck Comanche County Alerts
Preserve the identity trail for each search. Record the agency spelling, booking number, jail or state identifier, and event date. If several people share a name, do not merge their alerts. A permanent booking reference from Comanche County makes both the IVSS match and a later records request more exact.
Notification preferences also need review. A changed telephone number or email address can stop delivery even when registration still exists. Reopen the matched record when possible and confirm the channels offered by the current portal. State support can explain IVSS operation, but only the originating jail, court, or receiving agency can certify the event details.
Comanche County Release Fallbacks
When IVSS cannot find a former county detainee, the permanent jail record is the first fallback. Texas State Library Schedule PS requires the county jail register to retain core admission and release-or-transfer information permanently. The related booking and release packet has a minimum retention period of release or transfer plus two years. A request should name the person, approximate booking date, and any permanent booking number, then ask for the custody-end time, authority, and destination.
Comanche court records form the next check. The District Clerk public-access and name-search tools can lead to felony case information, while the County Clerk maintains county-level criminal dockets. Useful fields include cause number, charge, plea, judgment, sentence, jail credit, dismissal, and community-supervision order. A docket is not always the signed final judgment, so obtain the official order when the legal result matters.
For a TDCJ transfer, the state online search accepts last name, first name, TDCJ number, SID, gender, and race. TDCJ also publishes email and telephone inmate-information routes when the live detail is insufficient. Its information can include location, offense, projected release, parole eligibility, scheduled release location, maximum sentence date, and parole-review information. A discharged person may no longer appear like an active prisoner, making an incarceration-history request more useful.
A federal custody event belongs in the Bureau of Prisons locator, whose stated historical scope begins in 1982. An immigration transfer belongs in the ICE locator and ERO help route. Neither system covers an ordinary Comanche County booking, and an absent result does not cancel a destination recorded by the sheriff. Match each alert to the system that received the person.
Interpret Comanche County IVSS Events
A court notification and a custody notification answer different questions. An arraignment, setting, plea, or disposition alert shows activity in the case. It does not establish that jail staff completed a physical release. Compare the court event with the jail's booking-out time, especially when an order was entered late in the day or another hold appears on the roster.
A transfer-to-TDCJ notice is affirmative evidence that custody continued. Death and escape events also must not be labeled community release. When a plain release alert lacks a destination, call the jail and request the destination field. Save the message itself because a person who has left custody may later disappear from the IVSS search.
